Re: (erielack) Ski Train (was: Electrification, was: Another reason for low-profile horns)

The trains ran from Hoboken to Hawthorne on NJT then up the connection onto
the NYS&W to Vernon behind the old Playboy Club. "Suburban" stops were made
at Lyndhurst, Paterson and Hawthorne (NYS&W) - I think we had maybe two
ickups at Lynshurst and that was it. We ran up with passengers on Friday
night, deadheaded back to Hoboken (we got back at like 2 am). On Sunday we
deadheaded back to Vernon, picked up the passengers and arrived back in
Hoboken about 6 pm. We had a decent number of passengers but only 2 trips
were run. Two things killed it - little snow that year and the resort not
paying their bill to NYS&W and NJT. (The Playboy Hotel has had a number of
different owners over the years.)
