RE: (erielack) Buiklders plates

Speaking of builders plates - in the early days of Auto-Train, we had a
rep from GE visit now & then to checkup on the road engines. He & I got
acquainted and he came to me one day & said "You're interested in this sort
of thing, Walt" and opening his car's trunk showed me a bunch of builders
plates from Milwaukee boxcab electrics and 'Little Joes'. He offered all of
them to me for $100.00 (there were about 8 or 10 Milwaukee as well as a
couple RS-3s & 1 or 2 others). I declined since my wife would have been
upset if I blew that much money.
How many times do you think I've regretted it now??? Moral is - if u
think u'd like it, get it. They ain't making this stuff anymore.

Regards,

Walt Smith
