Time to turn the calendar again... This month's image shows a westbound freight (TC-1, possibly?) drifting into Susquehanna, PA behind an A-B-A set of F-units. A lot of today's photographers would be whining about the "cloudy day" and "non-photogenic location," but I'll have none of that here! There is tons of neat stuff to see in this photo... * The classic Erie water tower in the background, rusty and weather-worn, a fitting representative of the rapidly-declining Delaware Division. * The MOW-series 40' boxcar next to the freight house at right * The piece of "stick rail" lying alongside the main - more repairs to decrepit track? * The dirty, oily, wavy-rail siding at the right, with a weed-covered freight house track. I call that "character!" * The thick haze of a mid-summer's day (something we're experiencing here in the Northeast BIG-TIME today!) * The obvious grade in the distance, climbing up to Gulf Summit * Switchstands with lanterns! * A trio of F-units! Need I say more??? :) - Paul _____________________ Paul R.
