Here's the latest from the Delaware Lackawanna (GVT Rail) "David J. Monte Verde" <dmvgvt_@_earthlink.net> wrote: From: "David J. On the Carbondale Line we experienced a couple of blown out culverts, high water around the old Marvin Colliery, and some wash overs, nothing too serious. That line should be back in full service by mid day Monday. On the Pocono Line there was a wash over at Brownsville Road MP89.5 and a small wash out at MP 89 which should get attention Monday afternoon & then again on Wed morning, as we are off for the 4th on Tuesday. The Water Gap although covered with a lot of Delaware River & Broadhead Creek water endured very well, thanks to the rip-rap work the Lackawanna did in 1955 following Hurricane Diane, paid for with their Nickel Plate stock, and the rip-rap work we did following Hurricane Ivan in 2004. The River & RR part ways just southeast of the Point of Gap as the RR rises & the river drops away. PT98/97 should run Wed or Thursday. David J.
