Your right the ABA 601s are the units that were totally draw barred. Its been a while and I should have looked it up first. :( The AB 651s were draw barred only between the two units. Yep the one and only tender X 600 could be used in either group. My correction. Bob Bahrs The former tenders were made up to take the place an A or a B if it was out for service on an extended time frame. The DL&W had FT ABA with the FTSB, now if one of the A's had problems then a idler car (tender) was used. Same goes for the AB sets, for a while some AA sets ran around. The Steam Tender was for the AB ( 651) sets not the ABA ( > 601 )sets. The ABA sets had no drawbars, they were all regular couplers. > > Bob Bahrs > > > The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List > Sponsored by the ELH&TS > http://www.elhts.org > > The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org ------------------------------
