Advice from Dad's dad: "don't hang around railroads." Good advice. If I'd followed it, I'd be a shoe salesman now, (instead of a ticket salesman.) I was doing a little railfan investigating around West End, Jersey City, some years ago, and think I used a railroad bridge for a short cut, and got a scare. I didn't realize how fast those passenger trains move out there. But I wasn't a kid; I had about thirty years seniority under my belt. I've seen one or two kids killed on bridges here in Morristown, in the thirteen years I've been here.
