The ramp location was in EL's Oct 1973 "Through Freight Train Classifications, Times & Connections", which listed all TOFC ramps. However, UPS used the ramp at the old army depot you mentioned (GSA). I gather the ramp at the yard wasn't used much, since almost all EL TOFC at Marion was UPS. Paul B From: "Rich Behrendt" <rbehrendt_@_columbus.rr.com> Subject: Re: (erielack) West End Questions (2) Kenton Ave. in Marion is Rt. 309 which crosses right at the east end of Marion yard, and was a manually-protected crossing due to the number of yard moves going on, as well as mainline traffic to/from both the EL and PC/NYC Indy Line. Silver St. intersects Kenton Ave. just north of this location, so apparently was near the Marion shop area... ...was never aware of it being a 'GSA' facility, as the only government facility around is the old Marion Army Depot on the east side of town, which is today an industrial park with some rail - was utilized for autorack unloading, but will soon be part of a 'new' CSX intermodal facility soon to be built there as well...
