The assortment of available 1950's-era trailers is limited, so you can make do with what there is or kitbash. Having said that, the Sylvan 34' kit looks good; anything 35' or less will work. Some other models/resources: On-Trak: 32' Fruehauf 32' single axle resin kit #6620 Resin Unlimited: 30' corrugated single axle #304 Walthers 32' van (out of production) There's an excellent article in August 2001 MR on kitbashing the Walthers trailer. I have several surplus Walthers kits I can sell, but they're decorated so you'd have to strip and repaint for Erie. If you're interested contact me off-list. Paul B From: Ken & Carol Dabisch <dabisch1_@_concentric.net> Subject: (erielack) modeling questions - Erie trailers I'd like to model Erie piggyback trailers as shown in Morning Sun's "Erie RR in color", page 101, and am looking for some help. Are any HO scale models of these (or something close) available? Or, has any modeling info been published? They look like they'd be pretty easy to kitbash. Are these Fruehauf trailers? How long? The latest issue of Model RR'er, p. 12, shows a Sylvan Scale Models 34' trailer that looks similar, but the vertical ribbing does not extend around the front as in the photo in "Erie RR in color". What color were these painted? In the photo, they appear to be gray with black roofs and undercarriages. Several years back, Walthers made a 32' Erie trailer. Were these close to correct for anything the Erie had? Ken Dabisch The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org ------------------------------
