Long journey ends with opening of Hornell Erie Depot museum: Railroad memorabilia, toy soldiers on display

HORNELL - All aboard! After two years of planning and preparation, the Hornell Erie Depot museum opened Wednesday night. A reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony also included a guided tour of the toy soldier museum by curator David Shults. The Depot is expected to be open from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 12:30-3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Nate Oakes of Hornell enjoyed looking at the photographs of trains, railroad employees and scenery that adorn the walls.
