Re: (erielack) New Jersey Photographs(2)



The very-unattractive Caldwell cement block 'station' had always been there 
from my first memories of the area in the late-1960's, and must have 
replaced the original station a few years before the end of passenger 
service in '66 - After that, the property where the original station stood 
was sold and a small strip center of stores (including a Baskin-Robbins' on 
the corner facing the parking lot at the west end) was built.  The freight 
station (a piece of which can be seen to the left) survived through 'till 
the end of service on the line, although as far as I can recall it was never 
used for unloading cars...
