**** Crossing the Pascack Valley Line just around Teterboro is a concrete and steel footbridge to nowhere (kind of in the area of the new Lowe's home center). I forget what used to be on either side of the tracks there, but it was def. a PV Line customer because there are remnants of a siding nearby. Anyone have a sharp memory? **** My memory is mostly toast. However, Lowes is in East Rutherford, just south of the old Carlstadt station where Paterson Plank Road used to cross the line (now an overpass). It is on the site of a former chemical plant, Trubeck, then later UOP (Universal Oil Products?). I think that the plant was on both sides of the line, thus the footbridge, which may have also carried pipes over the tracks. **** What is now Honeywell was once Bendix? **** Yes, the former Bendix in Teterboro, near the airport. My father worked there from the late 50s until the early 70s, making guidance devices for military aircraft, missiles and space program rockets. Don't think they were ever a rail customer. Enjoy the commute! Better than driving Route 17, for sure. Jim Gerofsky The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org ------------------------------
