We also had a lot of guys injured during those days.
Minor and major injuries. Since the work rule changes
and the push to make the work place on the railroad
safer we now have very few injuries, compared to how
things used to be. My Train, Engine and Yard personal
are having a steak diner feed this week to celabrate
them going 700 days injury free. This is a group of
about 140 employess, male and female. This kind of
record was unheard of 30 years ago in the TY&E craft.
We have come a long way in preventing personal
injuries on the major carriers.
