Re: (erielack) NS derailment at Endicott

This occurred Wednesday night. Two cars of NS train 888 led by NS
9918/2600/BNSF 9593 derailed and dragged from at least MP 229 in Campville.
The cars stayed up, and there was no pileup. Duane and Page Av crossings
were damaged, with Page Av getting most of its rubber matting torn up on
track 2. Duane just had the pavement chopped up a little, but the train was
almost stopped by then, with the head end at the former Endicott station
site. Duane also has blacktop and no rubber mats. From what I heard on the
scanner, NS was looking for wheel fragments between Owego and Campville. The
train was moved out and the derailed cars rerailed by Thursday morning, but
Page Av crossing was closed til late afternoon. All traffic from Binghamton
to Waverly has been using track 1.
