RE: (erielack) commuter train engines
Remember too that on a few occasions the U34CH's were put into freight
service on weekends which was quickly quelled due to the fact they may not
be available for monday commuter service. This may have also been a factor
on their (EL) desision to purchase them, the possibility of supplementing
the freight units. I remember my late father had a bunch of onformation on
these units before they were purchased. Pamphlets and such that the EL was
distributing on the commuter trains which had much info on the new GE units.
Sadly they were disposed of (the pamphlets, not the loco).
