This discussion reminds me of something I have wondered about before. What
happened to EL's 6 Piggypackers (3 each at Croxton and 51st St)? IIRC, CR
continued to operate both ramps for a few years before consolidating
operations at former PC facilities (Cx was later reopened as a doublestack
terminal). It's possible the older, smaller P70's were junked but assuming
the P90's were moved, how was this done? These were big machines with a
weight of almost 90 tons and height and width of approx 18' and 19'
respectively, so you couldn't just drive them down the street. Presumably
they were partially disassembled and moved by rail or flatbed truck. Perhaps
Bill or Rich are familiar with the details.
