(erielack) Binghamton Gas Suppliers

While we're on this subject, can anyone provide some sort of list of rail
customers in the Bingo-Endicott area in the 1970's? I know there was one of
the ubiquitous Agway grain silos and I think a lumber/building supplies
dealer in Bingo. There was a large mfg facility in Johnson City which was
derelict by the late 60's. Any others?

Perhaps more relative to the discussion would be the location of the nearest
pipeline terminals to Binghamton, rather than refineries. This would be
especially true for the national or large regional brands, and the
independents distributing "nameless" gasoline.

The same could be said for wholesalers served by rail (the other
"pipeline"). Though as pipeline networks expanded the transportation of
gasoline by rail decreased until the larger tank trucks took over the short
haul from the pipeline terminal eliminating another level of distribution.
