Yes; but that doesn't tell me why we need these monsters now. 1500hp engines did the job fine, when I was a teen ager. When these new engines start a train out of my station, they sound as though they are still ideling. Talking about dinkey rail, we have had really heavy rail laying on the westbound side, here at Morristown, for six months or more, waiting to be installed. Personally, I wish we'd go back to wooden cars, with open vestibules. I know, they are easy to smash-up, and burn. But they still look good to me.
