We might wonder why a Rock Island car was deadheading to Elmira in No. 2 in 1966. Well, Jervis Langdon was Chairman of the Board of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Co. in 1966, and Elmira was his real home. That's probably the explanation. By the way, he died in Elmira on February 15, 2004 at the age of 99. He was also an active airplane pilot well into his eighty's. Not bad.
