I frequently rode the EL between Warren/Youngstown and Hornell, Hoboken and Marion. The food in the diner was outstanding. Some specialty items were as follows: Roast Young Tom Turkey, with mashed potatoes and gravy, with peas. Also a favorite on all trains was the Franks and beans, with Krusty Korn Kobs. There was also a New York strip steak with all the trimmings. Broiled Scrod was also listed on most menus. As MJC reported, the club sandwich was also a specialty. The food was ample and good and the prices were of an upper class restaurant. High compared to roadside restaurants but all diners were. Breakfast favorites was ham and eggs, home fried potatoes (from yesterday's baked potatoes so they were not always available.) Ample amount of fresh, hot, strong coffee.
