Raymond W. Ruff

DENVILLE - Raymond W. Ruff died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Saint Clare's
Hospital / Denville, after a short battle with kidney cancer.

Born in Newark, he was a lifelong resident of the Indian Lake section of
Denville.

He worked as a towerman for N.J. Transit in Denville, retiring in 1997
after 48 years.

He was a member of F. & A.M. Blue Stone-Mystic Tie Malta Doric Lodge #35
of Secaucus, originally Hoboken #35, and the Order of the Eastern Star
Mountain Lakes Chapter #270.

He was a member of the Denville Rescue Squad and Fire Department for 12
years, and served as a Special Police Officer in Denville for 25 years.

He also was an Exempt Fireman.

He was an animal lover, especially his dog, Nikki.

He was married for ten years to Kim (Jewitt) Ruff.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

His sister, Helen Merrithew, died in 1993.

His first wife, Velma, died in 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Kim (Jewitt) Ruff of Denville; a
stepson, Michael Ismail and wife, Julie of Flanders; a brother, Russell
Ruff of Connecticut; and a brother, William F. Ruff Jr. of Searsport,
Maine.

Funeral services will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph on
Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at 10 a.m.

Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover and visitation is planned
on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, which performed
the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Seeing Eye,
P.O. Box 375, Morristown, N.J. 07963-0375.
