The following have a nice history of the Marathon station, home to the Maple festival.

The line thru Marathon came to the DL&W via the Syracuse Binghamton & New York RR in 1869.

How many of you knew that the SB&NY RR has been resurected? Here it is:

It is now the official title of the ONTRACK passenger shuttle of the NYS&W.
Another resurrected name is the Central New York RR.
