RE: (erielack) branches, Spurs, tracks, etc.
Yes, from the Piermont Pier, through Nanuet Junction, to Suffern, where it
joined the "new" main. The NJ&NY (Pascack Valley Line) always shared the
section between Nanuet and Spring Valley, and commuter trains still run on
it 5 days a week. So the Piermont Branch, aka the Original Main, lives on
in frequent use, if only for a mile or so. East of Nanuet, the track is gone
and much of it is a rail trail. West of Spring Valley, the status is
spotty, with the track through Monsey impassable, though use is still seen
on both ends (MOW equipment storage in Spring Valley; lumber to Dykes in
Tallman)

On the Erie side, the Piermont Branch had similar
status, although, I believe, it constituted the original Erie main.
