Re: (erielack) Re: 'race plastics" on Totowa Industrial Spur



Water treatment plants use considerable amounts of chemicals, including 
Chlorine (disinfection), Soda Ash (pH control), Alum (flocculation agent), 
and Flouride compounds.  In addition sand for filters  and heavy equipment 
might have been brought in.  If I remember right, the city of Newark used to 
get tank cars of Chlorine on a siding near Green Pond Jct. on the NYSW, as 
part of their water treatment system.
