Listers, The Photo of Hoboken in the Spring 2006 issue of Classic Trains has at least one mistake. Item 6 is shown as the dispatcher's office. It is incorrect. The office was actually located under the high roofed building next to the South (left in photo) Ferry Slip. The office was in use in 1967 when I hired out and we continued to use it until Conrail built a plywood office on the upper ferry concourse. One door that was located behind the West End dispatcher (Port Jervis to Hoboken) actually exited out onto the upper ramp of the ferry slip. Many of us took a short walk outside that door when for a breather when the proverbial dung hit the fan. Rich Pennisi - --------------------------------- What are the most popular cars?
