I wasn't trying to be cute. I had assumed(you know where that goes...) that, as a member of this list for some time, you had a pretty good idea where BD from a geographical perspective. The map is correct, but more specifically, BD is at MP 213.2 on the Erie, 190.72 on the DLW. It is where the DL side comes up parallel to the Erie after crossing over the Susquehanna from East Binghamton yard. The plant there allows a connection from the DL mains to the Erie mains going west, as well as a connection from DLW track 1(EL track 3) to the Syracuse and Utica Branches. The S&U lines cross the Erie main on the bridge over Court St. It also controlled the east siding, next to track 2 on the Erie side. There was also at one point a west siding next to track 1, I don't know how long that has been gone, but I would guess that BD controlled that as well. The tower sat, and present day relay cabin sits, between the two main lines. It is located roughly at Court and Oliver Streets on Binghamton's east side, across from Kost Tire on Court St. Tom B - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tupaczewski, Paul R (Paul)" <paultup_@_lucent.com> To: "'Christopher Thurner'" <cthurner_@_adelphia.net>; "Mailgroup" <erielack_@_lists.railfan.net> Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 3:33 PM Subject: RE: (erielack) BD Tower > NOTE: This message had contained at least one image attachment. > To view or download the image(s), click on or cut and paste the > following URL into your web browser: > > > http://lists.elhts.org/listthumb.cgi?erielack-01-06-06 > > bd-map.jpg (image/jpeg, 1044x602 58330 bytes, BF: 10.77 ppb) > >> Where was this located (pls. don't get cute and say it's >> where the current >> BD interlocking is with the electrical relay cabinet with >> "BD" on it right >> next to where it was located)? > > Truthfully, that's exactly where it was! > > >> So what I'm saying is, where >> geographically >> was it located? > > Near the middle of Binghamton.
