OK, I've been following this thread for a little bit, and as an "easterner," I'd love to learn more about this major EL location. So, there appears to have been some differing statements made. Can anyone definitely clarify these: 1) Were there one or two humps? (and I mean full humps, not one being "flat-switched") 2) What direction were the humps? It was mentioned that one was westbound - that seems to make sense, since then cars could be blocked for the various Chicago connections. If there was an eastbound, what did it block cars for? (Meadville, Binghamton, Scranton, Port Jervis, Maybrook and Croxton?) 3) Wasn't Marion a fairly critical yard for EL? If so, why the delay in rebuilding it? (or should I say, the scuttling of it?)
