In looking through some Greenville production information I've come across, there are four entries related to the Erie that I would like to get some more information on: 500 sets of coal car material (hopper?) about 8/21 1000 sets of coal car material (hopper?) about 10/21 200 sets of gondola material about 7/23 100 sets of covered hopper roofs about 1/60 Would anyone with access to an 1920-1930 era diagram book be able to tell me if there are some car series around these dates that might be possible matches for the first three groups mentioned above? I don't imagine the diagrams might mention Greenville supplied material, but I could be wrong on that: I don't know if these are rebuild series or new cars built by Erie with Greenville parts. The diagram book (dated in the late 50's?) at George Elwood's site doesn't have much in the way of cars built before 1930 so I've been in limbo. If there are some possible matches, I'm interested in the number series, the number series of the original cars if the numbers are different, the original builder, build date/s, and builder lot number if known. For the fourth group, I am at a loss to figure out what cars might have gotten roofs around the time of the EL merger. I thought first they could be open top hopper conversions, but I don't know of any such cars, so am left to wonder if some earlier Erie covered hoppers got new roofs. If there is a diagram that indicates such, I'm interested in what the number series is, as well as the number series of the original cars if the numbers are different.
