Nice photo. Some comments on the schedule etc.
The routing shows River Jct, but IIRC the River line was abandoned by CR in
1976. I photographed this train going over Tip Top in Aug '77.
CR closed the Bingo ramp early on and Elmira became the ramp for the S Tier.
The routing of TV-77 (nee NY-99) away from EL occurred in stages: first onto
ex-PRR at Akron, then onto ex-NYC at Bfo. In 1981 there was a major traffic
shift off the S.Tier and the train was discontinued altogether. The symbol
was revived during the final CR years as a SK-Chicago 47th St schedule to
help accomodate burgeoning i/m traffic. It was routed all-NYC, although
terminals at each end were ex-PRR!
