(erielack) WC Tower Machine and Model Board Found

It seems that with the help of a former operator of the WC tower and
the foresight of a signal operations manager at the time of closing
we have found the Model board and Machine from the tower.

The Model board, for those not familiar with the jargon, is a display
pattern that models the area controlled by the tower. It is a
schematic diagram with the tracks, switches and signals indicated
with lights that reflect their confition to the operator. They change
based on the position of the handles for the various controls. The
machine is an early model of a General Railway Switch company that
may have been one of the first electromechanical models installed in
the area. It is believed to have been installed around 1900-1905.

Once we have finished the rehabilitation of the control room we will
reinstall the machine and model board to offer a critical attraction
to the museum.

Stay tuned as we follow up on this news.
