Hey guys let me see if I can throw a little light on this fire. The U34CH's were used for an extremely short time by Conrail after C Day. If I remember correctly they stopped running in freight service by about 1/1/77. The train IHB 7 ran via Meadville to Akron Ohio. From there it traveled the PRR branch to Orville Ohio, and then the Pennsy main to Chicago. The U34CH's did on occasion run to Meadville but the majority of the time they were swapped out at Hornell NY. I remember seeing a trio of these units roll up to the east end of Hornell yard and cut away from their train. An SD45, SDP45, and U25B trio backed onto the train and then proceeded west. Unfortunately I had a camera that refused to work properly and whatever pictures I have are only in my memory. And no the lash up that relieved the U Boats was not solid EL. The SD45 was PC, the SDP was of course EL, I believe the U25B was high hooded in an orange and white paint scheme. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tupaczewski, Paul R (Paul)" <paultup_@_lucent.com> To: "'Gary R.
