I am confused. When you say "Stop once past Croxton..." you don't mean they  
pulled all the way up to HX, do you? I always assumed that the trains cleared  
West Bergen Jct. (Erie Bergen Jct. on the map -- in CR and NJT it was always 
W.  Bergen Jct.), backed down the High Line to the Arches, and then went up 
the  Northern.

PS I always heard that the Swamp Switch was installed in the Northern, and  
was called the "Swamp Switch" because of the "moist" conditions encountered  
during installation.
