Bill, You will recall from the Conrail 1983 map of Northern New Jersey, the piece of track from just south (RR east) to just north of County Rd shows as - ------(dashed), meaning trackage rights! I remember standing there listening to Walter complaining that we had shifted his track over into the weeds when we were rebuilding the Northern. As I recall we resolved the issue with a trade-we got ownership of that piece of track, and Walter was permitted to construct a straightaway (direct) connection between the Southern Tier connection into Maybrook and the L&HR. For those not familiar with the trackage, this eliminated the requirement for NYS&W trains to pull into Maybrook and run around their train to continue east via the L&H. In those days these trains were primarily the SeaLands to Little Ferry, and Hanjin and NYK to Frank Folise's Resources Terminal.
