But then, I guess the E-L has been  gone for  nearly 30 years, so there's no 
reason to take a camera out  (at least for the relevancy to this list, 
obviously -- it has been so  decreed that photographoing trains is irrelevant 
to ***this***  list).

To this I say "Amen." There is still a sizable amount of EL  trackage left -- 
some with passenger service. Based on some of the remarks made  recently on 
this list you would think that it had all been torn up and there was  nothing 
to photograph!  If that be the case, I suppose any discussion  of 
photographers' rights ought to be considered irrelevant and we should  all just all bury 
our heads in the sand.
