Re: (erielack) Re-No Photos Anymore?

As Rick replied-----

Railfans could go in and out of engine terminals without asking and would
not have any problems. It was a different world. The shop people knew who the
railfans were as did the yardmasters and crews. No one worried about the
railroad getting sued over stepping on a piece of scrap!

From the Warren OH area you could take a summer afternoon tour and shoot a
dozen or so rolls of film on the Class one's, shortlines, and the industrials.
Most of the small industries were friendly also toward fans except for the
steel mills who had their own police departments. Companies such as Standard
Slag, Carbon Limestone, Industrial Silica and others would welcome fans,
show them old photos and offer cab rides. Cab rides could be had without
signing releases.

Times were much easier then----and black and white 120 size film was 3 rolls
for 87 cents! Processing was about 50 cents a roll.
