 I had the occasion to drive to Blairstown this morning, and was surprised
to see a lot of construction going on at the bridge over the tracks. It
appears a new bridge on a much more gradual alignment (i.e., no 90 degree
turn!) is being constructed about 100 feet east of the current one-lane
structure. It appears the new bridge is also going to be a concrete arch
(the forms are going in place for the pour), so it will still have a DL&W
"look" - it won't be one of the modern highway bridges. But it also looks
like it has clearance for only a single track beneath.
