i'm 67 and can remember as a 4 year old living with an aunt and uncle 
on the north side of buffalo - the number 9 trolly came up virgil 
avenue and onto private right of way just before the erie & dl&w 
bridges on their belt lines that went to black rock - i can remember 
going down to the trolly tracks and watching the streetcars go thru 
their end of line loop at kenmore avenue and seeing the steam power 
on both the erie and the dl&w as they bridged over the private right 
of way - if only i'd have had a camera back then - i can remember 
trips (trolly & bus for last leg) to central terminal on sunday 
afternoons with my uncle - even got to ride the station steam switcher once -
