Re: (erielack) pecking order/members ages

I remember seeing a couple of steam engines on commuter trains sitting on the
Caldwell Branch on a weekend. But I remember a lot of Lackawanna engines
around Netcong and Pt. Morris. Once (about '48) I rode my bike over on a Sat am to
take a picture of the westbound milk train, which ran via the "Old Road". I
wanted a picture of the new diesels, but it had two 1600s. So I didn't take a
picture.

On the semi-related thread of working for the railroad:I worked for CR for
my second career. Had a lot of interesting and fun jobs, in the Operating Dept
and then the Marketing Dept. Have (and never had) any real complaints, make
useful contributions to the success of the company. My great grandfather started
on the DL&W in 1870 when he arrived from Sweden, my Grandfather and two of
his brothers worked for the rr for 50 or so years each, my father for some
years, and now one of my sons is an engineman on NJT (PRR side), so is a 5th
Generation railroader. I still do some consulting in the intermodal business.
