Have vague memories of going to the Ridgewood station to get my grandfather and seeing Erie steam.  Also visiting friends in River Edge and seeing what was the last of steam operations.  Also went on a field trip in nursery school (Ridgewood) on an Erie train with steam.  I think to Waldwick (most likely) or Suffern.  But I remember the cars being placed where we could see the engine being turned on a turntable for the return trip.  Did either of these locations have a turntable or is it possible we went to Paterson?

Rode Stillwells behind Pacifics into Jersey City from Rutherford, NJ 
with father during summers when very young and during WWII.  66 years 
this November.
