I'm originally from Secaucus, but NJT wasn't hiring rail employees when I
applied before retiring from the Army.  I'm an engineer with Norfolk
Southern on the Washington District based in Manassas, VA.  Hired out in
1998.

I'll still harbor the fantasy of someday running a Steamtown special from
Scranton over the cutoff to Hoboken (can't get much more fantastic than
that!).
