There are several wayside base stations between
Binghamton all the way down (NS/CR vintage).

Really, there is nothing too special about them. Most
in railroad service are off the shelf commerical
radio's. Popular ones being the Motorola Maxtrac's.
GE-Harris radio's are out there, and I wouldn't be
suprised that there are some 20+ year old vintage
stuff.

Most operate on a tone or DC remote depending on the
terriroty.

As for the CNY leased area, the wayside radios still
transmit CSQ, the CNY radios are transmitting with a
PL of 173.8, and the detectors transmit with a PL of
100.0. This seems to be true between PJ and Hankins as
far as I can tell.

CNY recently just received FCC licenses for all the
base stations to operate on the NYSW 160.485. Here is
a list of locations as reported on another board:

Deposit 
Gulf Summit 
Hancock 
Kirkwood 
Callicoon 
Long Eddy 
Narrowsburg 

These are the same locations that have been around
since the CR/EL days.
