  Slightly related, for those interested I found evidence of this-

  1933      October 1                  

  10 car DL&W train from Syracuse to Ithaca via Cortland and LVRR for Cornell
  football game.

  Wonder if there was any more "through" trains.  Next question- did they
  change power in Cortland?

As for changing power, good question, but not likely as there was no engine terminal there but I imagine they would have changed crews and the Valley crew would have taken the train in to E. Ithaca.
