Are there any NJT guys on the list that remember showing up Monday morning and their Power gone? I am sure NJT Dispatchers were pealing some paint yelling at the EL. I sure would like to hear their version. Paul from what your saying I take it the GP-7's they used could not handle these cars either. I would assume that if the U34CHs were not back there was no power anywhere to be found. Just think how much we like some Monday's. No power No Trains Commuters stranded everywhere. Everyone scrambling. Yikes!! Therein lies the rub: The only units that could pull the Pullman-Standard commuter coaches were the U34CH's. The P-S coaches were all electrically operated - lighting and climate control - and the U34CH's were the only diesels with head-end power. It would appear that that the EL would have to start reusing other U34CH's to handle the missing units' trains, or just annul the trains altogether. THIS is why NJDoT wasn't too happy! - Paul The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org ------------------------------
