Who has pictures of foreign power and detours on EL rails they are wishing
to post?  Following up on your comment ED it would be neat to see a picture
of the Erie Limited Hammering the PRR Main Line. I like a lot of us on the
list were not around during 55.  Joel

Now this is interesting.  Since I was approaching 9 years old when that
storm hit, I'm not aware of what exactly took place.  I do know that PJ was
out of service for some time.  I wonder if Erie terminated the PJ commuter
trains at Middletown during that period?

Someone once told me that he saw the Erie Limited detouring through Paoli,
PA on the PRR at that time.

believe Erie detoured over the D&H and NYO&W during that period of flooding.
I've never seen any pictures of this but it must have been interesting
seeing the through-line passenger trains passing through Fallsburg, Liberty,
Roscoe, Cadosia and other towns.
