RE: (erielack) Re- Licensing EL



CSX has had a corporate licensing plan in place for some time (over ten 
years?).  CSX charges a nominal about per year ($10?).  No big deal.  Along 
comes UP, hiring a lawyer from Detroit who used to work for GM, and suddenly 
they develope a licensing plan, and this one is a read hassle, expensive, 
etc.  Now, GM has decided not to license any models for small scales such as 
N because of the liability risks (chidlren swallowing N scale module of a 
Silverado sues GM....yes, this is for real, just like the UP license 
program).  Wasn't GM involved in something called National Lines during the 
40s?
