(erielack) Phoebe Snow Tavern Lounge Observation Cars

In speaking with my uncle last night, who lives in Bethpage, New York, he mentioned that he overheard a conversation about these cars being up for sale by the MTA.  Any truth to that rumor from anybody's perspective?  If so, is the ELDCPS involved?
