Here is my caboose question. Beginning in October, 1961, the L&WV began operating its short trains with a caboose. They had two separate runs, one from Scranton over to and up the Minooka Branch, and the second down to Wilkes-Barre. The Wilkes-Barre run did operate with a caboose, but did the Minooka Br. train carry one? Just wondering, is Minooka within the Scranton yard limits making a caboose unnecessary? It seems pushing/pulling any extra car up the switch back would be avoided, if possible.
