Listers: It's been a few months but here's what happened to my Bachmann Pullman shells I tried to strip: They were destroyed. I had to wait until now for Bachmann to get a parts shipment in so I could order some replacements. They are coming in Pullman green. If this isn't a match for Erie dark green I'll try ELO on them this time around. Question: I need a lettering guide for 1950s piggyback trailers, namely for Motor Express. I can do the company name OK from photos but what other kind of lettering was there and where would it go? I am referring to things like serial number, capacity and dimensional data. Also, I could use some help finding a source for lettering of this type for 1/87 trucks and trailers. I have searched a number of 1/87 truck enthusiast websites (yes, there are people who are into HO scale trucks - go figure!) but decals don't seem to exist. Does anyone know of a source? I have kitbashed several 20' single-axle trailers from some old Athearn and Tyco 28' piggyback trailer I had in the scrapbox. I am modeling a series of Motor Express trailers from photos in Sweetland's "Erie Railroad in Color". I have used Floquil 818640 Navy Blue (Marine Colors) and it seems to match the blue in the photos pretty well. These trailers are going on a series of Walther's 75ft. piggyback flats that I have stripped and painted black. I need decals for these, too. I can cobble together the Erie roadname easy enough but I haven't found any dimensional data suitable for a 75' flat. Again, does anyone out there know of a source? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give. - - Dave Green, ELHS #1366, Avon, NY The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org ------------------------------
