(I assume that a NY&GL sighting is still fair game for this list.) I was driving thru the Dundee section of Passaic this morning, and I noticed that the NY&GL had a crew on duty switching the new waste transfer station. They were using the 1268, shuffling what appeared to be Southern wood-chip hoppers (seemed to be a bunch of them in Island Yard). A friend who works in Passaic told me recently that the new transfer station handles demolition rubble, and the NY&GL was taking 10 or 11 cars each day up Monroe Street to the Garfield interchange. That must be a major shot in the arm for the NY&GL. Perhaps that's why the lower Boonton Line controversy (Greenwood Lake Line to us old-timers) seems to have faded away.
