RE: (erielack) Mystery DL&W photo locations...
Newton. See page 213 of Lackawanna RR in north west NJ for a picture of the
Newton yard. That tall pointed roof to the right of the water tank and above
the coaches is clear in the book. It's part of the old shoe factory. Oddly
enough this pic was taken after the water tower was removed.
That building behind the loco is the old lumber yard that is now the Moose
Head Lodge.
I thought that there is a few pictures of the Newton water tank being
knocked down with a truck mounted crane in one of the DLnW books? I just
took a quick look but I couldn't find it.
If you look on the Sussex branch web page, there is a picture of the
concrete footings from the Newton tank being used to block off a road now.
SRR Dave Rutan can surly add a LOT more in this thread.

Hi folks,
I recently was looking through a collection of DL&W prints, and some
of the photos are unlabeled as to location. While some are rather obvious to
me, others are not. I'm sure to many listers, they would be obvious, so in
that vein, I'll be posting up the "mystery" photos over the next few days.
Here's the first one. For some reason, I'm thinking Newton on the Sussex
Branch; can anyone confirm or deny?
