Re: (erielack) ELDCPS - Lackawanna Diner 470/770

To add to Mike's thorough message, and since I've just been able to get access to the Internet while on business here in New Orleans, a few of my thoughts...

I am still in a state of utter astonishment and pride at the amazing generosity of the EL/DL&W/Erie community. The fact that we were able to raise the money in such a short period of time is a testament to all of you. It really feels like we're all part of one big family, and it's a great feeling.

I'm very much looking forward to the day when we all can meet in person on a recreated EL passenger train, riding along the DL&W or Erie in a beautifully restored passenger train, with authenic levels of service aboard. A few years ago, we would have been laughed at by others, but now, it's not only feasible, it will actually HAPPEN!

I'm happier than you can imagine at this. I certainly hope I can meet as many of you as I can at our Convention this October in Scranton!

Best regards,
